The start of bill filing is just a few months away - are you ready? Peg Peterson, a 20+ year seasoned veteran of the Texas Legislative Council, will review best practices for the bill drafting process and answer any questions you may have about all steps leading up to and after filing has occurred.
About Peg Peterson: Peg Peterson is a retired legislative attorney. After receiving her bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, where she competed on the UCF waterski team, Peg moved to Texas and became a member of the Texas Legislative Council research division staff. She then earned her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in Austin, and ended up returning to TLC as a member of the legal division staff. During her 20-plus years of service at TLC, Peg specialized in the areas of criminal law, drugs and intoxication, and corrections, drafting and reviewing bills on topics such as concealed carry, sex offender registration, and the manufacture of methamphetamine.
