The Professional Advocacy Association of Texas is the only recognized statewide group for the lobby and government affairs community. Since our inception in 2002, PAAT has become the gold standard for compliance with the law and professionalism. Our members are well-respected advocacy and government affairs professionals who are serious about what they do and are committed to integrity and high ethical standards. On behalf of our membership, PAAT works with the Texas Ethics Commission and the Texas State Legislature to improve understanding and compliance with the law relating to lobbying in Texas, while creating opportunities for collaboration, promotion of best practices and relationship-building.

We are proud of what we have accomplished over the years, and as we look ahead to the next 20, we want to ensure our membership base continues to expand and that our activities and events continue to meet the growing and diverse needs of our profession.
We are currently working on several issues related to the government affairs profession that we think are important to review during the 89th Session. If there are ethics, lobby or other related issues you would like us to consider including in our legislative agenda fill out this form. Also go to our Sunset Review page for information about how to get involved in the Texas Ethics Commission Sunset Review process.
